Living Voice FC Secure Second Place in NLO Group Stage with Walkover Victory Over Rolly FC

Living Voice Football Academy clinched second place in their Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) group stage with a walkover victory against Rolly FC in their final group match at the Ijebu Ode Township Stadium. The result sees them finish level on points with group leaders Bendel Insurance Jnr, who claimed first place, as both teams now advance to the round-robin phase with sights set on topping the zone.

Living Voice’s journey through the group stage has been nothing short of remarkable, remaining unbeaten across their five matches. Their campaign began with a 1-0 win over Detra FC, followed by a 6-1 thrashing of Junosa FC, a 1-0 victory against Big 100 FC, and a gritty 0-0 draw against Benin Insurance Feeders. The walkover against Rolly FC, awarded due to their opponents’ inability to field a team, ensured Living Voice finished with 10 points, matching Bendel Insurance Jnr but placing second due to goal difference or other tiebreakers.

The club’s president, administrator, and sporting director were effusive in their praise for the technical crew—Coach Williams and Austine Agberu Chinaza—and the players for their outstanding performance. They also lauded consultant Prince Isaiah Igben for his pivotal role in guiding the team through the group stage. Igben’s hands-on leadership, strategic insight, and constant presence have been instrumental in fostering a culture of resilience and ambition, enabling Living Voice to emerge as one of the group’s top teams.

“Our technical crew and players have shown incredible determination and skill,” said the club president in a statement. “We are immensely proud of their efforts and grateful to Prince Isaiah Igben for his unwavering commitment. This team is poised to compete for the top spot in the round-robin phase, and we are confident they can finish first in the zone.”

The coaching duo of Williams and Agberu Chinaza has been a driving force behind Living Voice’s success. Their unified tactical approach, blending defensive solidity with dynamic attacking play, has seen the team score eight goals while conceding just one in the group stage. Their ability to adapt strategies to each opponent, from high-pressing attacks to compact defending, has earned them plaudits from fans and analysts alike.

With the group stage concluded, Living Voice now turn their attention to the round-robin phase, where they will face three other clubs in the Ijebu Ode center to determine the zone’s top team. The club’s leadership expressed unwavering confidence in the squad’s ability to secure the overall first position, a feat that would further cement their status as NLO contenders.
